Kuala Lumpur Accueil (KLA): Your Gateway

Settling in a metropolis like Kuala Lumpur can seem daunting at first. This is where Kuala Lumpur Accueil (KLA) comes in. A true institution for French nationals and Francophones, this non-profit association’s mission is to offer a warm and structured welcome to every new arrival.

From your first steps, the volunteer team guides you through overcoming culture shock and facilitates your social integration. Whether you are expatriating as a couple, with family, or solo, KLA is where bonds are naturally formed.

"We don't sell services, we create friendships. The exchange of talents and passions is the DNA of our community."

Scouts in the jungle

The Scouts: Forging Character in the Jungle

One of the highlights of our community is undoubtedly the Francophone scout group. More than just a leisure activity, scouting in KL is a school of life. Based on the Law of the Jungle, the program teaches young people solidarity, perseverance, and respect for Malaysia’s lush nature.

Outings take place in exceptional natural settings like national parks (see our guide on biodiversity in Malaysia). It’s a unique opportunity for children to thrive away from screens, in an intergenerational team spirit.

  • Values transmitted: Commitment, mutual aid, autonomy.
  • Setting: Tropical jungle, overnight camps, water activities.

For those who wish to nurture their faith in French, the CCF (Francophone Catholic Community) of Kuala Lumpur offers regular meetings.

Generally on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 10:30 AM. Location: St John's Cathedral or local chapels according to the calendar.
